Even a Police Officer Can Use a New York Car Accident Lawyer

by

A car accident and collision took place on Sunday, February 22, 2009. The accident occurred in Commack, New York.

On Sunday Officer Glen Ciano, 45, was called to help a co-worker with a traffic stop when he was involved in the crash. At about 4:15am, a vehicle crashed into his car. After being hit, Ciano’s car was launched into a traffic pole. This started a fire that surrounded Ciano’s car making it impossible for him to be rescued at that point. The crash was so loud that it was heard a mile away. The driver of the other vehicle was Jose Borbon, 23.

Borbon was charged with driving while intoxicated at the time of the incident. He had been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on January 4. His arraignment for the recent charge is set for Monday, February 23. Police were not sure as to whether or not Borbon had a lawyer to represent him.

Unfortunately, the veteran officer did not survive the crash and fire. Ciano was on the Suffolk County police force for twenty-two years. His body was taken to the County Medical Examiner’s Office. Flags were lowered to half-staff and his fellow officers came to honor their fallen comrade. Many people recognized the work of the great police officer, husband, and father.
