Brooklyn resident killed by ambulance

A New York Fire Department ambulance killed an elderly woman as she pushed a grocery cart across an intersection. The ambulance was on its way to transport a patient to Brooklyn Hospital. The ambulance had its lights and sirens in use as it raced down Bay 22nd St towards Lutheran Medical Center located on 150 55th Street in Brooklyn. It was not known if the ambulance went through a red light. The victim was believed to be in her 80’s. No charges of DWI were brought by the authorities.
