Man Dies in Single Car Accident, Alcohol Suspected

Two men were injured, one of them fatally, in a recent single car accident. The young men were driving an older pickup truck when it went off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle hit a road sign when it went onto the side of the road. Police did not say if the men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the incident or whether the vehicle had airbags.

One of the young men was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The other young man was hospitalized while receiving treatment for his injuries. His injuries were severe enough that he was later transported to a second hospital to get further treatment.

At the time of this article, the man had been released from the hospital. It was not known if he had been released by his doctor or if he had left the hospital against doctor’s orders, states a New York Car Accident Law Firm. Because of the severity of the injuries, the young man will probably require long term medical care, although the exact nature of his injuries was unknown at this time.

Local police say that the area where the accident occurred was the site of over 30 such fatal accidents over the past two years. They suspect that the large number of fatalities is related to the proximity to an area where local young people like to gather to drink. Police believe that alcohol played a role in the accident. In New York City and especially in Long Island Drunk Driving in not tolerated at all.

The police report was not immediately available so it was unknown what was the driver’s blood alcohol level was at the time of the accident or whether there was any suspicion of drugs. Because the passenger of the vehicle was the one who died in the accident, charges are likely to be filed in the incident, explains a New York Car Accident Law Firm. If the evidence in this case points to charges of driving under the influence, the young man may be facing jail time. Police have reserved their comments at this time pending further investigation into the events of the evening in question.

Beheading Prevention In Rear-end Car Crashes

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has been gathering research based on analysis and crash tests that show evidence supporting the fact, that if you were to whack your vehicle into the back of a truck trailer, you would most likely die very quickly. A NY Car Accident Lawyer expands, that the center of the problem is based around the simple fact that cars are low and trailers are rather high. A bus accident would cause the same damage.

A car rides typically lower, which allows the full force of the accident to penetrate the windshield and roof pillars that protect the passenger compartment. This problem creates one of the fastest ways to not only die, but more specifically lose your head entirely. A New York Car Accident Lawyer reveals that the under-ride guards on trucks often fail in low speed crashes as well. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is fighting for stronger under-guard rails on both trucks and trailers, to be mandated by the federal government.

A New York Injury Lawyer shares how the front passenger compartment of most vehicles crushes instantly when the under-guard rails fail. You may be driving an incredibly safe vehicle, with impeccable crash test ratings, but the scary truth is that if you are in an accident with a truck or trailer where the under-guard rails fail, you could be killed. This is a very frightening thought, when you search for a car that will be ultimately safe for you and your entire family. It is impossible to be safe from every danger, but if the federal government decides that stronger under-guard rails should be a necessary measure, many lives could in turn be saved. Companies in New York City and Staten Island are looking for ways to prevent these injuries.

Though it is tempting to choose a vehicle that is trendy and outfitted with flashy features, the most important thing to focus on, is driving a car that is functional and more importantly safe. The same goes for trucks and trailers—that should be equipped with stronger under-guard rails, because there is no excuse for skimping on features that can save so many lives.

Intoxicated Man Dies after Hitting a Wall with Vehicle

A man suspected of being intoxicated while driving died after crashing his car into a pole and then a wall. After being pulled over by police, the man fled the scene and minutes later crashed the vehicle, a white Honda Civic, says a NY Car Accident Lawyer. Police did not pursue the man after he sped away. A full examination by the medical examiner will tell police more about the level of alcohol in the man's system at the time of the accident. No one else was injured as a result of this accident.
The accident occurred shortly after midnight Sunday morning. Before the accident, police had pulled the man over after receiving a tip that a drunk driver was driving on the highway. Apparently, the man was drunk enough to catch the attention of other motorists. Police pulled the man over with the intention of determining whether the man was intoxicated. The man drove off before the police were able to question him, reports a New York Injury Attorney. The name of the driver will not be given to the media until the man's family has been notified. It is not uncommon for the names of those involved in fatal accidents not be reported until family members have been contacted.
It is not known where the man was coming from at the time of the accident. He may have been drinking at a bar or at a party. Unfortunately, police were unable to detain the man and prevent this senseless accident. If the man had been detained, he might have been taken into custody and held until he sobered up. The man probably did not want to face the consequences of driving under the influence which could have included fines or time in prison. Drunk driving is treated very seriously in The Bronx and Brooklyn
A toxicology exam will be performed to determine how much the man drank before the accident. It is unclear where the man was trying to go after he fled from police. Funeral arrangements will probably be made after the family has been notified.

The crash scene was located at the intersection of state route 89 and state route 2 in Wetzel County. IN the Bronx and Brooklyn there are laws against certain signs which might distract a driver and cause an accident.

The driver of the semi, had no noted treatment for any injuries, but the driver of the Mazda was taken immediately to Wetzel County Hospital. A New York Injury Lawyer expands that the driver is still being treated at the hospital due to injuries sustained during the Saturday crash. Several officers from the New Martinsville Police Department as well as Emergency Medical Services, and the fire-department all responded to the call for help during the accident. A New York Car Accident Lawyer reveals that this incredible team, along with the help of 911 dispatcher Gary Glasscock, is responsible for aiding those involved in this dangerous crash.

What could have been a total devastating situation was made better by the support of the amazing Wetzel County community. The fire-department, police department, emergency medical services, and others really worked together to see this situation through to its best possible outcome and thankfully no lives were lost. Though the driver of the Mazda was injured, the over-all outcome was considerable less traumatic than it could have been considering how deformed the car looked after the crash occurred.
