An 8 year old boy and his mom were waiting for family to come off of the school bus. They were standing in front of their apartment building on Stafford Rd. in Flatbush, NY when a minivan that was trying to park went flying towards them. The van hit another car and then hit the gas and drove in the direction of the building. The boy’s mom was able to get out of the way but the boy, Justin Abuled, was not as fortunate. The minivan crashed into the front door of the building. The door was made of heavy metal and glass. The impact of the van’s crash caused a large piece of the metal fall off. The metal struck the boy, amputating his leg. Witnesses packed the leg on ice while waiting for paramedics to arrive. The boy, his mother and the driver of the van were all taken to Kings County Hospital; located at 451 Clarkson Ave Brooklyn NY 11203. Brooklyn Police have not released if the mother’s or driver suffered any injury. Information has not been made public if the driver had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the time of the accident.

Reality star Nicole Richie was recently involved in a car accident. She was driving her Land Rover in Beverly Hills when a photographer rear ended her. Los Angeles Police confirm that Richie suffered injury, but have not released the full extent of the injuries. The back bumper to her car was damaged as well. Richie refused going to the hospital, preferring to get her own medical attention and keep away from other paparazzi. Police have not said if the driver of the other car, or his passenger, sustained injury as well.

Paula Jimenez had just left her high school’s picnic reunion in Flushing Meadows Park, Queens NY when she was struck by a car. The accident was caused by Jian Seng He, a 34 year old Flushing NY resident. Seng He had just gotten into a different automobile accident and was trying to leave the scene when he caused the accident the injured Jimenez. Seng He was turning off the Van Wyck Expressway at Exit 11(69th Road and Jewell Ave.) when he caused the accident. Seng He lost control of the van he was driving and crashed into a parked car which hit Jimenez. Seng He was arrested for reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and assault. Queens County Police have not released whether drugs or alcohol could have caused him to crash. Jimenez was taken to New York Hospital Queens; located at 56-45 Main Street, Flushing, NY 11355. Queens County Police have not released the extent of her injury; only that she was listed in critical condition.

Jacob Chubalashvili, a 17 year old Queens resident had been driving his parents Mercedes on the Grand Central Parkway when he crashed into another car. The young man admitted to being under the influence of prescription pills and marijuana while he was driving. He was speeding when he blew through a red light at 69th Street and the Service Road of the Grand Central Parkway. His Mercedes crashed into the car occupied by Ki Kim and Hyekung Kim, of Kew Gardens NY, splitting the car in half. Chubalashvili sustained injury and was taken to Jamaica Hospital; located at 8900 Van Wyck Expressway Jamaica NY 11418; where his arm was set in a cast. Chubalashvili was taken from Jamaica Hospital straight to arraignment at Queens Supreme Court, where he was held on numerous charges. Both Kim’s suffered a fatal injury.

Disney’s spin off of “Fantasia”; “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” starring Nicholas Cage has been hit with a run of bad luck. In the beginning of the week, Disney was filming a scene on Seventh Avenue and 47th Street in Manhattan, NY when stunt driver Jeremy Fry lost control of the Ferrari he was driving. The car crashed into a pole, which fell over and hit a person walking on the sidewalk. He then ran up on the sidewalk where he struck another pedestrian before crashing into a Sbarro’s Pizzeria. Both pedestrians were taken to the hospital for treatment. The same week, a BMW SUV swerved to avoid hitting a taxi cab and ran up on the curb at Seventh Avenue and 51st Street in New York City. The SUV crashed into several crew members who were standing on the sidewalk. Eight people were taken to the hospital for treatment and diagnosis of their injury. Six were released with minor injury, but two people suffered more serious injuries and had to be admitted. Neither Disney nor New York County Police have released the names of those injured, or what hospital they were taken to in Manhattan. They have however, said that neither accident resulted in a fatal injury to any party involved.

Suffolk County Police arrested a young man after the automobile he was driving crashed through the front on a home in East Moriches late one night. Police report that Adam Clarke, 20, was driving in his SUV with a friend when the accident occurred. The two were on East Moriches Blvd. in East Moriches, NY when the SUV went over the landscaped divider the home owner created. The car flew through the air and crashed through a picture window, landing on the second floor of the home. Luckily no one inside was hurt. Clarke was taken to Brookhaven Hospital; located at 101 Hospital Rd. Patchogue, NY 11772. The passenger refused treatment.
The home owner reports the damage to the house was estimated at $200,000.00. He also said he had the divider created to stop a car from crashing into the house if they lost control. Clarke was charged with reckless endangerment, driving while intoxicated, reckless property damage, as well as other charges. He will be arraigned at Suffolk Count First District Court; located at 400 Carleton Ave, Central Islip NY 11722.
