Lin Chen, a 36 year old Brooklyn resident, was riding his scooter on 7th Ave and 51st Street in Brooklyn when a FDNY SUV struck him down. Witnesses tried to help the injured man while they were waiting for paramedics to arrive. Chen works as a delivery man for Good Friend 88 Restaurant, but police have not disclosed if he was working at the time of the accident. Chen was taken Lutheran Medical Center; located at 150 55th Street Brooklyn NY. He was listed in critical condition with a severe head injury. A car accident occurred in New York on Friday, September eighteenth, 2009. The accident took place in the town of Medford.

At about four p.m. on the evening of the accident, a woman was driving a black SUV vehicle when she allegedly hit a young child. The female child was riding her bicycle down an isolated driveway when the sport utility vehicle crashed into her. The driver of the car had two infants in the back. The crash was located close to Knickerbocker Avenue.

Immediately after the accident, the victim was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center by airlift. Unfortunately, the eleven year old girl suffered from internal injuries and although her condition was stable, it was still serious.

A vehicle collision arose on July fifteenth, 2009. The incident took place in New York City, New York.

On the Tuesday evening of the accident, a male in his young-fourties was driving his automobile when he was victimized in an accident. As he came about a crossway in the Bronx, another SUV allegedly hit his car.

Edwin Baquedano, a 32 year old resident from Port Jefferson, NY; had been thrown out of the illegal night club that he was in late one night. Baquedano was at the Latino American Deli and Grocery; located at 3663 Route 112 Coram, NY when the incident started. The deli is an illegal night club after the deli closes. Baquedano became enraged after being thrown out and decided to drive his 1994 Saturn through the club. Suffolk County Police responded to a call after the incident happened. Police reports say that Baquedano drove his car through the window and door of the building then reversed and drove away. Luckily no one inside the club was hurt. The car broke down less than a mile away from the scene. Suffolk County Police found Baquedano a short while later in a wooded area near his car. He has been charged with DWI, second degree criminal mischief and numerous driving infractions including leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license. He will be arraigned in Suffolk County First District Court; located at 400 Carleton Ave. Central Islip, NY 11722. Reports do not indicate if the deli has been fined for operating a nightclub without a license.

A New York City taxi lost control while driving with a passenger in the cab this week. NYPD Highway Patrol reports that the cab driver was driving near the intersection of Amsterdam Ave and West 72nd St. and Broadway in NYC when the traffic light for his lane turned red. Instead of stopping, the driver sped up and tried to maneuver around the car in front of him. Witnesses say that he was honking his horn repeatedly while trying to pass the stopped car. It was then that the taxi lost control and went careening into a subway entrance. The taxi crashed into a four foot iron fence and the entrance to the 1, 2, and 3 subways. Pedestrians had time to run for safety. The only people that suffered injury were the driver of the taxi, the passenger and a pedestrian on the street. None of the injuries were serious. The three injured parties were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Christopher Scotto, a 26 year old Hampton Bay resident was driving drunk early one morning when he struck 3 pedestrians walking in the same direction. Southampton Town Police report that the accident occurred on Dune Rd. in Hampton Bay, NY. They have not made public what caused the driver to strike the 3 Suffolk County residents, or what his BAC (blood alcohol content) was at the time of the accident. (New York State has a zero-tolerance policy for drinking while driving.) The three victims were taken to local hospitals, one having to be transferred to Stony Brook University Medical Center. Southampton Police have not released the severity of the injuries yet. Scotto was held on a $50,000 bail and is facing a DWI charge. Other charges are still pending.
